Description
Thickspike Wheatgrass is a drought tolerant reclamation grass which also makes a good low maintenance turf. It is a cool season, sodforming grass, medium green in color. It handles a medium amount of traffic. Unlike many of its drought tolerant turf competitors, Thickspike Wheatgrass is a sodforming grass so it makes more of a mat rather than the uneven surface of a bunchgrass. It can be slow to establish a lawn but the effort is worth it. The seeding rate for a Thickspike Wheatgrass lawn is 5 lbs per 1000 sq ft.
(Technically this is not a mix but it is classified with the other lawn mixes.)
